Too many things on my needles

Okay let's just say it...I am not a monogamous knitter. I don't even know if I want to be. I have about 4 socks on the needles, 1 sweater, and 1 shawl. I'm trying to join the box o' sox KAL and I'm a little behind. Also my amazingly wonder and lovely niece has requested some gryffindor socks so I got some special harry potter striped gryffindor socks for her. I have no problem with this of course because otherwise we would go shopping when she comes for a visit and last time I spent about $250. So here I am making socks and more socks and then I added a new shawl so it's okay. The problem as I've always stated is podcasts. I watch them and see new things and then I am enabled to go out and cast something new. Maybe I'll be good for awhile....but then I got this new yarn from my amazing friend in Scotland  (thisboy) and I really want to start another shawl......crap. Being a slut knitter that can't become a monogamous knitter to save her life isn't so bad, right?

I love stockinette but oh how I long for a complicated pattern to cheat on it with.

So I am working on the lovely and oh so famous featherweight cardigan by knitbot which I absolutely love and truly don't mind working on. However, sometimes I do cheat. Let's face it, I am not a monogamous knitter. If truth be told, I'm a bit of a slut when it comes to my knitting. With all of these amazing new patterns and all of you amazing Podcasters, I sometimes go a little crazy. Right now I have 4 two-at-a-time socks on the go, one shawl, and my cardigan. Now this is the case not just because I am a project slut but also do to the fact that some patterns can be done at some times and some cannot. I work a phone customer service job which allows me to knit. Unfortunately if the pattern is complicated I can't do it. There also needs to be projects for when I am watching podcasting, when I'm at doctors offices, when I'm being driven around, and of course times when I'm at the movies. Unfortunately all of my projects have turned it to easy, can do anywhere, projects and so I am forced to choose. Since my lovely cardigan is also part of a kal due at the end of july, I am trying to force myself to be a good girl and be monogamous. So far I am doing okay but it has only been a few days so let's just wait and see.

Why I love indie dyers...

So in the last few months I've begun to watch more and more podcasts who then go on to tell me about new indie dyers and let's face it, this just means my stash is going to grow. Over the last few years of being a knitter I've notice that we are our own special type of people. And not one that can be easily explained or catagorized. Within this special group there are even smaller groups that sometimes intertwine with each other. Some knitters are projects knitters who live for the finished object and others are progress knitters who just love to knit and don't necessarily need it to become something. There are nerd knitters, indie dyers, continental knitters, two-at-a-time sock knitters and so much more. It's an endless list that you can check off on to show just what kind of knitter you are. The one thing that seems to be the similarity among our kind is that we like to enable. Have you ever met a knitter for the first time and noticed they were knitting with a beautiful hand dyed yarn or knitting the newest Joji Locatelli pattern? If you even glance at said item and they notice be prepared. They will be more than willing to share information about it from yarn to needles to pattern. Now not all people are like this but knitters are. There is something in the knitting brain or some special aspect of our DNA that makes us want to share. We love knitting and gosh darn it we want you to love it to. The other side to this is of course if a knitter comes up to a regular person and they are wearing a knitted object. If you are said person, be prepared. We will want to know all about this item and may even fondle it without asking. Don't worry. We aren't dangerous and we won't bite, but if you leave the item behind, whether by accident or not, we might steal the item. Lol.

What a perfect day to knit.....

Today is supposed to be spring but it isn't. It is dark and gloomy and all I want to do is knit. I've started working on a sweater pattern that I put down originally because it was getting hot outside. Now of course it's 40 degrees outside and having a sweater on my lap is fantastic. So here I am enjoying my weekend knitting and watching knitting podcast.
So this week I've started back up at work again. It's been 3 months since I've been on leave because of surgery I had to get done. This week was a tough one. I wasn't expecting to be this tired. It's also really hard to work when all I want to do is sit home and watch podcasts. I am glad to be back at work though since sitting at home hanging out with my dog isn't very social.
So what's on my needles? I'm working on the Central Park Hoodie which I'm really enjoying. I'm also working on the box o' sox KAL. I have to Roller City Rollers on the needle as well as some plain vanilla toe up socks. Another sweater I'm working on is called the featherweight.

My only FO for the week or finished object is my newborn hat pattern from Purl Soho. What a cute design and so super easy.
Acquisitions. I've recently got some amazing yarn from Berry colorful Yarns in the Harry Potter colorway. The color is Gryffindor. This yarn is for knee high socks for my niece Emma.  I've also gotten in the post a beautiful project bag that I found on Etsy the guy who sews and it's amazing.
